Sunlight Codes
After a long journey across valleys and hills, the group finally reached the ancient tree Pink Rabbit had spoken of.
No more questions. No more worry.
They curled into the roots of the tree, and they fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.
Kakú felt a soft knock behind her eye and opened it to find the sunlight rising. It felt like a call she couldn’t ignore, so she followed it, standing quietly, facing the great sun. In that silent salutation, the sun responded with a pattern of light, a dance of shapes and energy that reflected on her chest. It was as if the sun was mirroring something within her, revealing a hidden layer she hadn’t seen before. It was beautiful, and somehow healing.
She wasn’t sure how long she stood there, staring at the sun, it was almost hypnotic, as if time had paused. But then a voice broke through, soft but clear: “Come on, Kakú, we need to start moving!” It pulled her back to the ground beneath her feet, back into her body. Without thinking, she turned and began walking down the hill. In the distance, just beyond the trees, they could see the island, not far now.

In the previous chapter…
Kakú, a Cuckoo, has been struggling since a mysterious encounter with the Big Bird. Something shifted deep inside her, and she became quiet, often tearful, haunted by dreams she couldn't understand. Her friends in the burrow, especially Ruby and Lola, noticed the change. The soft-hearted rabbits felt her sadness and knew she needed help. That’s when Pink Rabbit, wise and calm, stepped in.
She led a small group on a journey, an expedition across hills and fields, to find help. They travelled without stopping, even when tired, trusting the Pink Rabbit's guidance. Finally, they reached the top of a hill where an ancient tree stood, where they could, finally, fall asleep.
